This is the Gospel in a nutshell: * We are helpless sinners deserving of hell because of Adam's disobedience. That is the bad news. We are always breaking God's moral law both in outward actions and inward attitudes. * Once we are aware of the bad news, the good news that Jesus came into the world to suffer and die on the Cross to take the punishment and guilt of our sin upon Himself, and to bear the eternal wrath of God for sin as our substitute. * We need to embrace Christ as our Saviour and put our trust in Him alone for our salvation. * We need to repent from all known sin and seek Him with all our heart for the Holy Spirit to work the full transformation that causes us to be fully converted to Christ. * Then we need to surrender our lives to Jesus, and seek to do His will. As you can see, this is much more than praying a sinner's prayer and signing a decision card.

Just remember, Satan knows the facts of the Gospel better than anyone. You don't get born again by believing certain things, but by experiencing a miracle of grace. Some beliefs will naturally flow out of that. I like this response.
It reminds of a situation I was in.
I had a workmate who called me at home. This was unusual.
But he had asked for my phone number to keep in touch.
To make a long story shorter, He said, "I want what you have."
It was clear to me that he meant my relationship with God.
I was one the spot. The call came out of the blue, sort of.
I went over a few gospel points with him. But frankly, he would have stood
on his head in the corner if I said that is what made the change.
The guy had been a bit "clingy", following me around.
Made me somewhat uncomfortable. He seemed to
worship the ground I walked on. Saw me as a rescue angel.
The story, as I understand it was, that he had a prodigal/pigpen experience.
He was an experienced professional, but found himself cleaning toilets.
When he was down on his knees in a stall, he cried out to God for help.
That very day, he got a call from his recruiter, that my company had requested
he come work for us. He showed up early, eager to work.
Years later he showed up at my church with new wife. A Christian couple.

It's not what I said, so no.
I'm saying you can't be saved by ONLY hearing information; it takes a supernatural miracle and revelation we receive with our free will. Thanks for clearing that up brother ! God saves first then works on the new spiritual man. God is not saving the old man except from himself and the old man is put away. Saving faith comes by God's grace so we can do what pleases God as a spiritual man. God bless you.

I heard RC Sproul say that over 90% of seminary graduates could not accurately convey what the gospel is so it’s no wonder so many have a distorted or false gospel . Here is RC below : There is no greater message to be heard than that which we call the gospel. But as important as that is, it is often given to massive distortions or over simplifications. People think they’re preaching the gospel to you when they tell you, ‘you can have a purpose to your life’, or that ‘you can have meaning to your life’, or that ‘you can have a personal relationship with Jesus.’ All of those things are true, and they’re all important, but they don’t get to the heart of the gospel. The gospel is called the ‘good news’ because it addresses the most serious problem that you and I have as human beings, and that problem is simply this: God is holy and He is just, and I’m not. And at the end of my life, I’m going to stand before a just and holy God, and I’ll be judged. And I’ll be judged either on the basis of my own righteousness–or lack of it–or the righteousness of another. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus lived a life of perfect righteousness, of perfect obedience to God, not for His own well being but for His people. He has done for me what I couldn’t possibly do for myself. But not only has He lived that life of perfect obedience, He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to satisfy the justice and the righteousness of God. The great misconception in our day is this: that God isn’t concerned to protect His own integrity. He’s a kind of wishy-washy deity, who just waves a wand of forgiveness over everybody. No. For God to forgive you is a very costly matter. It cost the sacrifice of His own Son. So valuable was that sacrifice that God pronounced it valuable by raising Him from the dead–so that Christ died for us, He was raised for our justification. So the gospel is something objective. It is the message of who Jesus is and what He did. And it also has a subjective dimension. How are the benefits of Jesus subjectively appropriated to us? How do I get it? The Bible makes it clear that we are justified not by our works, not by our efforts, not by our deeds, but by faith–and by faith alone. The only way you can receive the benefit of Christ’s life and death is by putting your trust in Him and in Him alone. You do that, you’re declared just by God, you’re adopted into His family, you’re forgiven of all of your sins, and you have begun your pilgrimage for eternity. hope this helps !!!f i know the problem that you are referring to.....in many Forums and others places where the Bible is being discussed, poorly taught people just find “ anything” that has a Positive Note about and call it the Gospel —— like they see something like “ Jesus Wept” and then they declare , “ Well, there you go —- THAT’S the Gospel !” ......Lol...... Nope, the THE GOSPEL is very specific.....it’s 1Cor15:1-4.....* THAT* Gospel is the one Paul referred to at least three times as “ MY “ Gospel ......It is the one talked about in Romans 2:16.... it is the one that every man will be Judged by on Judgement Day....God will want to see if you either RESTED in it , or felt the need to ADD to it.... God declared in Hebrews 3 and 4 that if you do not REST in Paul’s Gospel Of Grace Plus Nothing, you are guilty of “ Disobedience” and “ Unbelief” ......One needs to understand what true “ Sabbathing” means.....everything else was just a “ shadow” .....True Sabbathing means to REST ....* REST* in the FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS !

Acts 16 tells the interesting and insightful story of “ Lydia, the seller of purple”....... it was said that God “ opened her heart” to the reception of the Gospel.....yes, “ hearing” alone won’t get the job done—— it must be Received , Believed and Internalized....God Himself, via the Holy Spirit begins the process.....”,Nobody comes to God,lest the Spirit DRAW him....It was that “ Spirit” that drew Lydia.....why would it be any different for anybody else , one should ask....

Two wise things to do, but they are not part of the Gospel......The Gospel is all about what God has done for man—- NOT what man does for God...

Just remember, Satan knows the facts of the Gospel better than anyone. You don't get born again by believing certain things, but by experiencing a miracle of grace. Some beliefs will naturally flow out of that. Sure you get born again by believing certain things. Not sure where you're coming from by saying that you aren't. Believing isn't mentally assenting to certain facts however. One can say like a parrot, "I believe Jesus died for the sins of the world even mine!" but if they have no inclination to make Jesus KING and Lord over their life all the mental assents mean nothing. Titus 2 :11 tells us the GRACE of God teaches us something....that we're to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and that we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world and that's called the GRACE of God teaching that. So God looks at the sinner who has allowed themselves to be awakened to see a need to be born again and to have a changed life. The preaching of the gospel was and is to tell the sinner what God has done on the cross. Will they come into agreement with that and IDENTIFY with the various things HE HAS SAID he did on the cross YES or NO. If they do they break with Satan's Kingdom and God translates them out of the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of his Son by his power and LIFE. Believing isn't just mentally assenting but it's a verb....ACTION....you receive Jn 1:12 or one could say IDENTIFY with what he said by the confession of your mouth. THEN GOD imparts the miracle of his grace...Eternal Life. For with the heart man BELIEVES UNTO righteousness Rom 10...you can't believe unto righteousness if you haven't been instructed there's things for you to believe and accept. And with the mouth confession is made....UNTO--->unto salvation. It's not salvation and then confession it's confession and THEN salvation. Your statement, "You don't get born again by believing certain things, but by experiencing a miracle of grace." sounds very Calvinistic to me which I guess I'm wrong for I see you on the other site resisting that way of thinking. No offence but it is an awkward thing that you say though because it sounds like regeneration BEFORE believing. Ditto !

The Gospel is the good news which is the power of God that brings forth salvation to everyone who believes.
Romans 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”
Jesus taught more on the Kingdom of God( the gospel ) than any other topic or doctrine.
Jesus mentions the Kingdom over 100 times in the gospels. It is the most important thing Jesus taught during His earthly ministry. Here are just a few passages on the kingdom from the 4 gospels. The kingdom is like a multi-faceted diamond and the gospel is the core-center of that diamond. There are many facets to the kingdom but there is only one gospel that saves. Your response tells me you have not given the subject any serious thought. Mark 1:14-15 Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Luke 17:21 Nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.” John 18:36 Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world; if it were, My servants would fight to prevent My arrest by the Jews. But now, My kingdom is not of this realm." Romans 14:17 Paul declared that the kingdom of God is a matter “of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” 1-The kingdom of God is a spiritual kingdom ! 2-Jesus declared that His kingdom was not of this world in John 18:36, 3-Jesus preached that repentance is necessary to be a part of the kingdom of God in Matthew 4:17 4-Jesus said to Nicodemus that the kingdom of God can be equated with salvation in John 3:5–7, where Jesus says the kingdom of God must be entered into by being born again in John 3:3- Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again. There is One God There is One Lord There is One Faith There is One Baptism There is One Jesus There is only One way to God There is One Savior And there is One Gospel Galatians 1:6 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. So since there is only One God, One Savior, One way to God through Christ, One faith, One baptism and One Gospel- there is only one way to be saved.
Christ Crucified Is God’s Power and Wisdom- the gospel
1 Corinthians 1:10-31 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 11 My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 12 What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.”
13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so no one can say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.” 20 Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 22 Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. 31 Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”
What is the Gospel you ask ?
Paul defines that Gospel by which we are saved below: 1 Corinthians 15:1-19 Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. 3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also. 9 For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me. 11 Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. 12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. Only One way to be saved, by One Person, One Gospel and One Faith. In Him alone. Scripture is really very exclusive here but inclusive to all that come to Him freely! Revelation 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying overhead, with the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation and tribe and tongue and people Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Jesus passed on the gospel to His Disciples. Its the same Gospel but Christ had not suffered, died, risen yet. The disciples didn't understand the Passion until after His Resurrection, they were in denial. Before His Resurrection Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand…. I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am.” — John 13:7,19 After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken. — John 2:22 From that time on Jesus began to explain to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things at the hands of the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and on the third day be raised to life. — Matthew 16:21 Now Jesus was going up to Jerusalem. On the way, he took the Twelve aside and said to them, “We are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified. On the third day he will be raised to life!” — Matthew 20:17-19 After His Resurrection He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. — Luke 24:25-27 He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. — Luke 24:44-45 hope this helps !!! In your opionion, what is it that we are saved from? The dominion of Satan's sentence of death being applied to us?

Why do people keep reapplying dominion of such, over other people? Trying to re-apply Paul's gospel, to a situation that was so post to have been rectified.

When the incessant reapplication of the curse happens; does that not tend to invalidate the cure? Kind of like, Jesus won!! Of never mind ..... we are still all of Satan.

I remember reading Francis Shaeffer saying that if he had one hour to witness to someone, he'd spend the first 45-minutes convincing them of their sin! The good news that there is a cure for cancer is pragmatically meaningless unless you know you have cancer! Doug Sounds like Paul. But remember, Paul filed that at the end of the age. Not the same thing. When replying to christians, did Paul say your children are not? Nope ..... Look it up ..... but "now your children are holy". Paul did NOT say just keep, on filing Adam's transgresions on your children. Nope ..... for that would invalidate everything. Jesus dying .... even Paul's gospel.

Perhaps the gospel is that God is on our side.

Perhaps the gospel is that God is on our side.
Exactly. He was “ on our side” to the extent that he put all Of our Sins on His Son when He did not Have to do it , and he put all of our Sins on His Son when we did not Deserve to have it done for us.....on top of that, He was on our side so much that He took the Perfection Of His Son and Imputed it to us, making us, in God's eyes, just as “ Perfect” as His Son.....He Guarantees to present us as “ Blameless” on Judgement Day.....and all we have to do to benefit From His “ Being on our side” is to Trust Him....We Prove that we have that Trust by Resting in the Gospel......that means not Adding to it , as Paul warned us in Galatians...
