God is spirit .... not us
Zechariah 4:6 The angel told me to give Zerubbabel this message from the Lord: “You will succeed, not by military might or by your own strength, but by my spirit.
Our thoughts perish upon our earthly demise .... we are dormant in the grave until the Lord returns
Psalm 146:4
King James Bible His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

We do have this hope .... however the reality of it does not happen until Jesus returns and the 1st resurrection happens.

When a born-again believer dies, his soul goes immediately into the presence of the Lord. There, the soul consciously awaits the resurrection of the body.

We do have this hope .... however the reality of it does not happen until Jesus returns and the 1st resurrection happens. The theological concept of “already but not yet” holds that believers are actively taking part in the kingdom of God, although the kingdom will not reach its full expression until sometime in the future. We are “already” in the kingdom, but we do “not yet” see it in its glory.

We are “already” in the kingdom, but we do “not yet” see it in its glory. Agreed. There's reason to believe that when God spoke creation into existence, he spoke the completed product into existence. This temporal process we are familiar with is only "how it comes to pass". We really know very little about reality. But we have scripture to show us that GOD alone knows reality completely, because he 'invented' it. He is not just another resident within reality.

Our thoughts perish upon our earthly demise .... we are dormant in the grave until the Lord returns Psalm 146:4 King James Bible His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish. Is that soul sleep? That is taught by Jehovah's Witnesses and Seventh-day Adventists. I always thought that the Bible says something a little different about death, eternal life and heaven. At the time of death, believers enter the Lord's presence. In essence, the moment we die, our spirit and soul go to be with the Lord. Psalms 146:3-4 In-Context 1 Praise the LORD.Praise the LORD, my soul. 2 I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. 3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save. 4 When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. 5 Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD their God. 6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— he remains faithful forever.
