I suppose you were born again knowing everything? It's nice to meet you too. If you are going to seperate the carnal and spiritual mind entirely, then you should have the all knowing mind of Christ expressed infinitely in the bodily form of every believer INSTANTLY upon being gifted with the Spirit of God. That is not what happens. Both Arminianism nor Calvinism adequately deals with this issue. The carnal mind and spiritual mind battle one another and it affects our actions and performance in life. Yielding to either is a sign of the choice of a freewill mind imbued with choice. It is the very nature of God's desire within humanity. A willing servant. That servant mentioned in the law that loved His Master and refused to leave Him when he was given his freedom. Exodus 21.

... You're EXCLUDING the fact that the Gospel is preached in terms/ways that the natural man CAN understand.... Is there scripture which states that the natural man can understand the gospel, as opposed to Calvinist's claim that none can understand without first being regenerated. Someone here posted Acts 17:27ff which does imply one can understand; I suppose the onus is on the Calvinist to prove regeneration must first occur.

...Well, I disagree. I don't see anywhere, where Paul calls a Christian carnal.... I don't think 'yet' means 'like' 1Cor 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Romans 1 shows how natural man knows enough that he is without excuse. That doesn't mean he can understand the gospel. My goodness! none of us completely understands it. But the Spirit of God within us does.

But the Spirit of God within us does. Exactly how does "without excuse"...... = don't understand? Without excuse REQUIRES comprehension. Which is an indication of ENOUGH.... understanding. Jesus didn't die a HIDDEN death among His disciples. He died openly before all of humanity. His soul laid bare and his loving words echoing throughout the ages. This entire life we live continually proves our own inabilities while exposing the guilt of our judgement in endless death for every man. That isn't difficult to understand. It is the FOOL..... who says there is no God. This is so easily understood that only FOOLs hide from the knowledge. Even then, they are without excuse. They know. You're conflating the deeper things of the Spirit of God that deals with the maturing believer with the requirements of the Gospel. The requirements of the Gospel are so very small.....

You're conflating the deeper things of the Spirit of God that deals with the maturing believer with the requirements of the Gospel. The requirements of the Gospel are so very small..... The “natural man” is a figure of speech for that sinful human nature, common to us all. It is equivalent to the theological phrases: the “sinful inclination,” the “evil disposition,” the “apostate will,” “original sin,” “native depravity.” It manifests itself in the understanding as blindness, in the heart as hardness, in the will as obstinacy. So how would you get out of that predicament? I call it getting to the end of your rope. When you have lived X amount of years in the “old” life, an “outward” life, a “carnal” life, a “natural” life, you're going to find that it doesn't really work all that well. And there you find yourself at the end of your rope. Count it all joy because it's really a good place to be. Now you have a chance to change for the better, to become the “New Man”. A man of God. When you're at the end of your rope you can look back and see that your way doesn't work. And if someone comes along and shares the gospel with you it might just be what you're looking for and you don't even know it. At that point you have a decision to me. Do you want to go back to your old dead stinking way of life or try the new abundant life that's being offered to you? It's time for a change. God’s kingdom is a spiritual kingdom. It has nothing to do with outward performance, it’s to do with an inward change. You know the old definition for insanity, to keep doing the same old thing over and over and expecting a different result. That's the sin nature. Okay here's the good news, best news there ever was or will be. 1. Recognize that you are a sinner. (Romans 3:10, 23) “There is no one righteous, not even one… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” 2. Recognize that Jesus died on the cross for you. (1 Peter 3:18) “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit.” 3. Repent of your sins. (Acts 3:19 NIV) “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” 4. Receive Jesus as you Savior. (Romans 10:9-10) “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” That’s it!
