Is it privilege and arrogance that would drive a person to claim grace for themselves while denying it for another?

Is it privilege and arrogance that would drive a person to claim grace for themselves while denying it for another? Pride? That might Include both. I think a person’s attitude is important to God. Reminds me of the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector. The Pharisee had a big case of pride. The Bible tells us that pride is an infectious, insidious sin. It invites God’s judgment and destroys all that it touches. In God’s love there is no room for pride. “Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up” (1 Corinthians 13:4) “Love is neither anxious to impress, nor does it cherish inflated ideas of its own importance.” There are two expressions here: one speaks of what love does on the outside if it gets caught up with pride. The other has to do with what pride is on the inside.
