This is a very interesting topic that I have not thought of before. I will have to give this some thought before I can say I agree or disagree. But right off the top I understand the argument you are making but need to give it some more thought. Thanks for posting the topic here. the Church the body of Christ is in decline since covid attendance is way down . many only have sunday morning and wed night some just Sunday morning . how ever mans Church is in decline.. God Church is not.. every thing we see today. is due to man adding and taking away from the Church. most of all it falls to man i like this Ecclesiastes 7:29 King James Version 29 Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. aka schemes

I agree with your post. Those man-made schemes will get you every time. It's God who builds his church. Your post made me think of this: Church Is Not A BuildingIt's a page of scriptures only about this topic.

One great thing that came out of it from ours is a Mens discipleship group that meets Thursday mornings as a group of 20-25 and some of meet in smaller groups or one on one’s on other days. So God is working on the hearts of men in our church to a deeper more commuted walk with Christ.

Next reference: 1 Corinthians 12:13..
The context of this is established as the local and visible assembly at Corinth.
So the baptism becomes water baptism as a precursor to joining a local body of Christ.
Paul... baptised in reference to Antioch church.
The Corinthians.. obviously baptised in ref to the church at Corinth.
No violation of scripture here.
The WE in this ... Is Paul and the Corinthians

Yes the church is not a building it’s the people , the body of Christ wherever they meet or gather together.

Well .. just start in 1 co 12.. and what body is being described? 'ye are the body of Christ '.. is the church at Corinth. So from there..we go to 1co 12:13.. the context being of the church (body) at Corinth. So.. then Paul and the Corinthian congregation were all baptised into one body. Which body? Paul... Antioch most likely The Corinthians .. obviously Corinth. This is body as in 'assembly, group' Need more evidence? Matthew 16:18...what church is this? Because Matthew 18:20 it is local and visible.

Yes the church is a good topic to study as there are many different understandings of exactly what the church should look like in our time.
