I've done a inspirational series what I call the "The Victory Zone"
In a nutshell is looks at the spiritual drive, the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul sought to build within the hearts and minds of the saints when he spoke of the Olympic Games in how the athletes in Paul's day give it everything they got to win the prize....they a perishable crown but we a non-perishable one. 1 Cor 9:25 My series on YouTube actually uses an analogy taking from the game of hockey....certain things about the game but i put an emphasis on not too much on how the game is played BUT rather on how the ice surface has very interesting clearly defined ZONES. To explain a hockey rink has 3 clearly defined zones of considerable size.
First there's the Defensive Zone your end zone if your goalie is in the net....it takes up 1/3 of the ice surface. Moving down the ice you come to the first blue line which indicates your crossing over into a different place.... the neutral zone. It takes up the 2nd third of the ice surface, it's in the place you know of the center ice area which is everything between the two blue lines. I'm sure all know what an ice rink looks like.
OK now spiritualizing this as some type of parable, perhaps not to be taken too seriously but one can have fun with this and be inspired. Consider Israel when in Egypt were in a place of great difficulty....under Pharaoh they were greatly oppressed and God heard their cries and wanted to bring them out....we know the story. Ex 3:7 And we know to bring them out he had to bring them out to a sea.....the first blue line??? (using our ice rink analogy) Israel went through the Sea with walls of water on each side and they came to a new place. The Bible calls it the wilderness. They weren't meant to stay there indefinitely but just for a period of time.....They were now in the NEUTRAL ZONE. (think of our hockey rink illustration)
it wasn't the place God ultimately had for them it was only intended they be there temporarily but it was better then what they had. He took them to Mt Sinai the mount of God in this place to learn the law but he was really preparing them for the ultimate...the crossing of the Jordan River we'll call it the second blue line which takes them into the Land of Milk and Honey..... the Victory Zone or what in hockey they call the Offensive Zone. Being in the Victory Zone, doesn't mean you don't have any battles, in fact they're increased!
In hockey the other teams defensive players can be big and strong. Israel sent 12 spies into the land, the crossed the Jordan, Num 13 (the second blue line) and saw all the great wonderful things. They came back however and 10 of them created dismay among the people. YES the land is wonderful and great BUT...BUT the cities are walled and greatly fortified and we saw giants in the land as well. We can't take the land they exclaimed.
So they wouldn't cross the second blue line.....the Jordan River. They stayed neutralized, in the neutral zone wandering around that place for 40 years! (think of the ice rink) To cross the Jordan they were going to have to walk by faith and not by sight....to trust in the Lord with all their heart and not to lean on their own understanding! They refused to do it and grieved and broke the heart of God! Much more can be said and I did a 5 hours series on my YouTube channel called the Victory Zone. We've likewise have been given a spiritual Land of Milk and Honey God, not a physical one but a spiritual one. Our spiritual land of milk and honey is all the things we've been made In Christ Jesus.
Many, many things could be said which I get into in my 5 hour teaching but to illustrate just one thing....God has not given us a spirit of fear but of love and power and a sound mind. There is a spiritual goal we must score of actually achieving this sound mind....when the devil's defensemen of fear are trying to push one back across the blue line back into the neutral zone we say NO, NO, NO, in Jesus name I have Christ he's my VICTORY and we quote whatever God says about our problem and we hold fast to it. We hold the line which is a term used in the military BUT that spiritually is what we do. We hold the line, the blue line of the Victory Zone and won't allow Satan's forces to throw us back into the Neutral Place!
Another word that spins off of neutral is to be neutralized! Such means to be made ineffective, harmless (that is harmless to Satan's kingdom) and useless! Here's another term for the neutral zone. The comfort zone. You've heard the term one has to get out of their comfort zone? It's a comfort that is to the flesh not to have to walk by faith and to stay walking by sight. Israel chose that and refused to accept Caleb and Joshua's report they could take the land! (two of the 12 spies, and only two who had a positive faith report) The human carnal flesh doesn't want the discomfort of walking by faith. It likes to stay in the place that they think of as being safe. In so doing they never fulfilled the destiny God had for them. Here's another definition of the Neutral Zone, or Comfort Zone.....you ever heard of the Twilight Zone?
Oh yeah you say that mysterious Rod Sterling show of the 50-60's but I'd say forget about that. What exactly is twilight? It's that period or stage of time in which there's just as much light as their is darkness....an absolute mix. One experiences this twice daily at sunrise or sunset and if you'll take the time on purpose after you've heard what I've said to experience it....pick the exact time you'd say OK NOW is the time....I'd say it's 50% light and dark...and look about you.....that's how God and the spirit realm looks at those who aren't manifesting forth their victories in Christ....those who don't through faith and patience inherit the promises, of which Heb 4 warns us about. How many Christians have lived their whole life in the Twilight Zone...not in totally darkness but then again....not in the full light of the Victory Zone God has for us? Having said this none of us are perfect, we're all in the neutral, comfort, twilight zone at times even periodically, but if there is a great cloud of witnesses observing us from Heaven (Heb 12:1)
spectators in the stands if you will, what are they saying? How about, "Come on, come on, come one! You can do it! You got Christ in you, you have his promises of who and what you are in Christ! Break through that blue line, your spiritual Jordan River and take your place! Do so through FAITH, JOY and walking in LOVE and don't allow the devil to throw you back into being neutralized!"
Yes you still might stay being saved but the twilight place is not for you as it's a yucky type of existence! You stay in the Victory Zone and through FAITH and PATENCE you manifest the Victories, Heb 6:12 in other words you score your goals and all Heaven shouts and rejoices and cries out GLORY TO GOD! So the question is what type of player, what type of soldier of Christ do we choose to be? One who skates around the ice of the Neutral Zone forever? Or rather one who will hear, "Well done good and faithful servant" at the end of your days?
If anyone might like to go through my series on my channel, "The Victory Zone" you can listen to it from the link below. It's 22 Parts on the playlist but they're only 14 minutes each about 5 hours long. I think you might be inspired by doing so. Thanks for your time.
