As for my present bible reading, I'm in 1 Samuel 21. I began a new reading habit a couple years ago. I'd reached Jude, and was about to enter Revelation. Several years ago I heard about a guy who was reading the bible, each book, 6 times in a row . Yep.... struck me as odd too. But, he'd read a book, and go back through, and read it again, and again.... 6 times. Interesting thing you guys are saying....the 6 times thing. Many years ago I'd do this very thing. Back in the days of cassette tapes, I had a job where I could wear a Walkman all day. I knew the repetition thing really would get things in one where it becomes a part of one. A general read is good but a saturation read is very good too. I do both. Back in those days I had 6 cassette tapes. Some were the Bible on tape and sometimes a tape would be a good Bible teaching. It came to me about the 6 thing for God told Israel to march around Jericho 6 times or for six days and then blow the trumpets...VICTORY would come. Again not saying one should create a six time doctrine hahaha....but it can get things in you with a focus. Other ways of saying it, it's like a rain storm....a fast quick storm runs off very quickly and doesn't penetrate into the Earth but a slow rain over a couple of days more so sinks down into the ground. Thanks for sharing brother now back to the battlefield over yonder rofl.........

Astonishing the amount of whining they do. Apparently I'm a false teacher because I think it's important to commit things we're not able to know now, to God and let him tell us the details in eternity. Rather surprising. They've been really clear that they know the bible really well, so I didn't include psalm 37:5 to further support my statement about it. I guess they're not as well educated as they believe themselves to be. I also didn't include Proverbs 3:5-7, 16:3. They're worse than the atheists. 🤷🏽♂️

We have a few good ones here that are nice , cordial , respectful etc

It's really laughable how they can justify that.

It was lifted last night around 7. 🤷🏽♂️😏

Its really funny/paranoid how they think so many people are me over there. They permanently banned Leeh who lives in Europe because they all ganged up on him accusing him of being me so the Calvinist moderator 4him banned him. She hates me with a passion because several calvinists left the fold. rockson SteveB

But the moment that I went to the C&A forum, and I posted my views, I felt like I walked into a nightmare where my own spirit-kinfolk wanted to kill me. I was totally caught off guard. I thought I'd walk into a fellowship room where I could rejuvenate and refresh myself after years of being in the dark rooms of those perishing. And then they got me banned because they didn't like the things I discussed. At least one person accused me of lying about seeking refreshment and rejuvenation. Another accused me of deliberately seeking to corrupt their beliefs. I finally put two of them on ignore, because they were so argumentative and combative It looks like several more may have put me on ignore now.

It's for people that would much rather exercise the fruits of the spirit then walk in the flesh.

I just lost a long post in response to this which is a bummer. I should of copied it . But the long story short is there is a bias there with the moderation against non calvinists who get banned and treat the calvinists way nicer then the calvinists treat them and they never get banned. There is the pack of wild dogs mentality there that is tolerated where they gang up and bully others by intimidation like the playground bully, bullying is an accepted practice by calvinists there that goes unpunished. I was privately emailed yesterday 1/2 dozen times by the moderator 4him calling me a liar and harassing me. I gave her my 2 cents about her biased moderation. I will not moderate here and someone else does that so there is no conflict of interest. I enjoy posting and interacting with people and this forum was created for that purpose to share our beliefs in a safe place without being harassed. We are here to sharpen iron and build one another up in the faith not tear each other down. Lurkers can be reached and so can the calvinists as several former calvinists have left those beliefs on CARM and post here. So hang in there and you can always post more often here brother

not listing a favorite but the screwtape letters are good... helping to show the carnal mind which most christians ignore or do not think exists...
the saved already concept made it so no one thinks satanic influence happens... therefore causing to forget how the ego (carnal/natural mind) is there constantly oppressing each soul

i do know that God knows who are His souls who were in eden and that He will bring us back to our paradise.. if we cooperate and listen.... it doesn't mean we aren't subject to sin which the screw tape letters book shows I just purchased it on Audible for one credit. I can listen to it when I go to the gym. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. A masterpiece of satire, this classic has entertained and enlightened readers the world over with its sly and ironic portrayal of human life and foibles from the vantage point of Screwtape, a highly placed assistant to "Our Father Below". At once wildly comic, deadly serious, and strikingly original, C.S. Lewis gives us the correspondence of the worldly-wise old Devil to his nephew, Wormwood, a novice demon in charge of securing the damnation of an ordinary young man. The Screwtape Letters is the most engaging account of temptation, and triumph over it, ever written. The bad news is the narrator sounds like he's half asleep. I hope I'll be able to put up with it for 4 hours. I may need to: Ephesians 6:11-13 says, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness in this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Here's one I like that goes along pretty good with The Screwtape Letters
THE BAIT OF SATAN by John Bevere
Escape the enemy's deadly trap! The Bait of Satan exposes one of the most deceptive snares Satan uses to get believers out of the will of God - offense. Most people who are ensnared by the bait of Satan don’t even realize it. Don’t be fooled! You will encounter offense, and it’s up to you how it will affect your relationship with God. Your response will determine your future. If offense is handled correctly, you will become stronger rather than bitter. In this tenth anniversary edition of his best-selling book, John Bevere shows you how to stay free from offense and escape the victim mentality.
With more than 400,000 copies in print, this audio book includes testimonials of transformed people who have read the original book and a devotional supplement, featuring discussion questions, scriptures, and prayers. You will find answers to tough questions like these: Why am I compelled to tell “my side” of the story? How can I fight thoughts of suspicion or distrust? What can I do to stop rehearsing past hurts? How can I regain trust after someone deeply offends me? This audio book will help you escape the enemy’s “offensive trap” as well as empower you to stay free of offense, enabling you to have an unhindered relationship with God.
John Bevere, The Bait of Satan, 20th Anniversary Edition. (Lake Mary, FL: Charisma House, 2014), ii.
