Was this ended at the time it was written?...Dwight - The Law ended when Jesus died, just like I said. Paul affirmed that later in his epistles.Dwight - The Law was ONLY given to the JEWS, so if it's still valid, then even today, it would not apply to Gentiles. But it is not valid for anyone. Even the New Covenant was originally given ONLY to the Jews, but later the Lord told Peter through a vision that the Gentiles could also be part of the New Covenant.

7 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
2 For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
3 So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.Dwight - SOME laws were repeated in the New Covenant - Moral laws that are eternal because they reflect God's character. Nine of the Ten Commandments were repeated in the New Covenant. But the penalty for breaking those laws, which could be being stoned to death, was not repeated. MOST of the 613 Old Covenant laws were not repeated. If an Old Covenant law is repeated in the New Covenant, it becomes part of the New Covenant.
Is the Law dead or are only the saints dead to the active Law?....
Dwight - The Old Covenant is gone, never to return.
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Did Jesus say "it is finished" as per the saint is dead to the Law or are sinners also dead to the Law?Dwight - The New Covenant is open to everyone who is willing serve a new King - Jesus. As the Bible says, the Law of Moses is gone, not governing anybody now - except to learn from. Even Paul in his teachings referred to the Law to make his point. We can learn God's thinking about various subjects from the Law. The Jews who try to keep the Law today are deceived, because it is not in effect. Without the temple, it's impossible for them to keep the Law anyway.
Did Paul say the Law ended here?...Dwight - Paul said that the Law ended when the Seed came to whom the promise was made - Christ. But technically the Law was still in effect during all of Jesus' life, although His message was sort of weaning people off of it. For example, He broke the Law many times - He broke the Sabbath several times, He touched dead bodies and lepers - these were breaking the Law. But He could do that without sinning, because He was the Lord. He was above the Law. However He never broke a Moral law, did He?
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
Is it ended for everyone or certain folks?Dwight - You keep asking the same question. I already answered that
To be specific, was Hitler under the new covenant or Law?
