Who or What is the Trinity? Inquiring minds want to know.
In the simplest of terms, Christians believe: There is only one God, and this one God exists as one essence in three Persons.
The three Persons are: God the Father God the Son (Jesus Christ) God the Holy Spirit (also called the Holy Ghost)
God is one absolutely perfect divine Being in three Persons. His being is what God is, in relation to the universe he created. The three are called Persons because they relate to one another in personal ways.
When Christians talk about believing in one God in three Persons (the Trinity), they do NOT mean: 1 God in 3 Gods, or 3 Persons in 1 Person, or 3 Persons in 3 Gods, or 1 Person in 3 Gods
Rather, they mean: 1 God in 3 Persons
Therefore, The Father is God—the first Person of the Trinity. The Son is God—the second Person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is God—the third Person of the Trinity.
The Bible clearly teaches that there is only one God, yet all three Persons are called God.
There is only one God: Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD. (Deuteronomy 6:4) Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. (Isaiah 43:10; 44:6; 8; 45:5a)
The Father is God: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:3; 8:6; Ephesians 4:4-6)
The Son is God:
The Word was God. (John 1:1-5, 14) Jesus is identified as “the Word.”
I and the Father are one. (John 10:30-33)
Jesus’ disciple Thomas addressed Jesus as “My Lord and my God.” (John 20:28)
Jesus did not tell Thomas he was mistaken; instead Jesus accepted these titles. Other people in Scripture, notably Paul and Barnabas (Acts 14), refused to accept worship as gods.
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. (Hebrews 1:6-8)
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him,and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:9-11) Paul, the writer of Philippians, is saying about Jesus what Isaiah 45:23 says about the LORD, and then Paul concludes that Jesus is LORD, that is, the same LORD God of the Old Testament.
See these passages about Jesus’ deity: Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1; John 1:18; John 8:58, 59; John 10:30; Acts 20:28; Romans 9:5 & 10:9-13; Colossians 1:15, 16; Colossians 2:9; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:3, 8; 2 Peter 1:1; 1 John 5:20.
The Holy Spirit is God: But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost? ...Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. (Acts 5:3-4)
This verse equates the Holy Spirit (Holy Ghost) with God. Now the Lord is that Spirit. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
“The Lord” here refers to “the LORD” in the Old Testament verse (Exodus 34:34) Paul had just quoted in the previous verse (2 Corinthians 3:16).
There are more than 60 Bible passages that mention the three Persons together because they all three work together. I like to think of it this way. God thinks it, Jesus speaks it in the Holy Spirit accomplishes it.
Bottom line is if God is for us who can be against us? Romans 8:31

God is a Trinity of persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is not the same person as the Son; the Son is not the same person as the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the same person as Father. They are not three gods and not three beings. They are three distinct persons; yet, they are all the one God. Each has a will, can speak, can love, etc., and these are demonstrations of person-hood. They are in absolute perfect harmony consisting of one substance. They are co-eternal, co-equal and co-powerful. If any one of the three were removed, there would be no God. Jesus, the Son, is one person with two natures: Divine and Human. This is called the Hypostatic Union. The Holy Spirit is also divine in nature and is self-aware, the third person of the Trinity. The word "person" is used to describe the three "Persons" of the Godhead because the word "person" is appropriate. A person is self-aware, can speak, love, hate, say "you," "yours," "me," "mine," etc. The three Persons in the Trinity demonstrate these qualities. What is so hard to understand about God being Triune? The Father is not the Son. The Son is not the Holy Spirit; and the Holy Spirit is not the Father. God is a Trinity (Tri-Unity) of 3 Persons who are the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Trinity is not three gods nor is the Trinity three beings. We call them "Persons" because each one of Them have a will, speak, teach, love, receive praise, prayer, share the same Glory, etc. These are all characteristics of person-hood. They are of one substance, nature, essence or Being. You cannot have the Father without the Son, the Son without the Father, The Son without the Holy Spirit or you would not have the God according to Scripture, you would have a false god or what is known as an idol. hope this helps, I am not so sure it is difficult to accept and believe. I think the difficulty is, man has to understand everything completely. But with God, understanding everything about Him is impossible. .

I am not so sure it is difficult to accept and believe. I think the difficulty is, man has to understand everything completely. But with God, understanding everything about Him is impossible. . your right, because God is infinite and we are finite or limited, we can never fully understand God. His Word is our instruction manual to understanding the God we may not fully know. Take the inherent logic of Scripture when it comes to the crucial issue of God’s identity. Who is God? The average person might immediately respond that “God is God! There is simply no more to say than that!” This is an understandable response, but surely such an answer is not satisfying. So we would be justified in asking again, “Who is God?” If pressed further, someone might answer that God is loving or gracious or sovereign. But these are characteristics or attributes of God. It would be like saying that my father is kind or strict. If someone were to ask, “Who is your father?” I would want to say something more than what he is like. I would want to identify him by his name. So when we say what God is like (loving or sovereign), we still have not said anything directly about God’s identity. The biblical answer to God’s identity is complex and multifaceted. For example, God is named the great “I AM WHO I AM” (or “WILL BE”) in Exodus 3:14, from which we get the name Yahweh or Jehovah. God said to Israel that he “is” (or “will be”) what he has promised to be as Israel’s liberator from bondage, especially in the exodus from Egypt. That God “always is” who God is (“I am who I am”) One of the things we can understand about God is His unchanging faithfulness. Bible says, "He Is before all things, and in him all things hold together" Corinthians 1:17 Psalm 89:2 says, his faithfulness is established "In the very heavens." Genesis 8:22 says, "While the earth remains, seed time and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter, and summer and day and night shall not cease." So we can see from His word the stability of nature the consistency of God. Our God can be trusted, always trusted, eternally trusted. He never forgets, Never falters, and never fails. He always keeps his word, and there is no possibility of his changing. Faithfulness is the very clothing God wears, Isaiah 11:5 says "Righteousness will be the belt of his loins, And faithfulness the belt of his waist." So you can see His word does tell us quite a bit about who He is.

He did not base it on three persons, but one God made out of three substances. That is what I use also according to 1 Thes. 5:23. "spirit, soul and body." That makes one person. When we are born again, only our spirit and soul are born of the Spirit now. Our mind and heart/conscience becomes new. The body must still die before it undergoes the change. But the body is not the source of sin, anymore that a puppet is responsible for the puppets actions. It is the nature that is invisible and is our spirit and soul.

We will be restored to our original body lost at the fall… what’s called resurrection body but was our original and restored to His creation we will be with Him and see Him, and see All His sons and daughters, and see His spirit. Our actual gorgeous family.
Why do you keep wanting that kind of body? for what reason? Such a body could DIE, and did! Such a body, if given to you, could become corrupted again.
We should only want a body like the Lord's glorious Heavenly body!
The one we are going to receive in the Resurrection!
The original body lost in the fall was a body made of this earth. The same earth that is doomed to perish!
Therefore having a body like the original body could not feel at home in eternity.
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body." Philippians 3:20-21
Our citizenship (home) is in Heaven! Not the new earth. Adam's citizenship was earth!
Our resurrection body will be made of heavenly substances found in Heaven, just as Adam's original body was from the elements of this earth!
There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor."
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power."
1 Corinthians 15:40-43
One reason Adam and Eve fell was because their bodies were not enough to keep them eternally happy! They wanted more from life!
In our glorious resurrection bodies we will have no desire for such things. It will be glorious satisfaction!
grace and peace ................

I believe 2 Corinthians 3:17 refers to Jesus, not the Father. Now Jesus is the Spirit. Verse 14 says the veil over the Jews is removed in Christ. Also in verse 15, Paul says, "to this day (his day, after Christ's life, death, and resurrection), whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart." Verse 16 "but whenever a person turns to the Lord (Jesus), the veil is taken away.
However, I also believe that Jesus is the Father (Isaiah 9:6), and the Father is the Holy Spirit (Acts 5:3-4), yet, at the same time, each is distinct from the others. Of course this doesn't line up with the traditional view of the Trinity.

Several years ago I counted the number of passages where the three persons in the Godhead are mentioned at the same time in the New Testament. Would you believe 156 times? Only 5 New Testament books do not mention them together: Colossians, 2 Thessalonians, 2 Timothy, and 2nd and 3rd John. They may mention them, but not all three together.
The book of Acts has the most - 39 times! Romans is next with 15 times. Then John and Revelation - 12 each. Luke and Ephesians - 11 each. Matthew and 1 Corinthians - 8 each. I won't give the rest here, but you get the idea.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
There is 2, not 3, not 1.
God and the man = 2.
