We all have legitimate needs. Sin is resorting to an illegitimate solution to resolve a legitimate need. Lawlessness is the end result.

Can you name one sin that did not have its roots in a legitimate need?

Jesus was born as Adam was created. Sinless. Adam fell. Jesus proved that Adam did not have to fall.

Our problem is that too many are weak in teaching and understanding. They want a simple quick fix. In their frustration caused by deficiency they seek ways to fight and argue as to keep their minds preoccupied and off of their deficiency in knowing Truth.

God will always raise up a few men who are capable of teaching what their current generation needs to know to become winners before God in the angelic conflict.

It sounds sinful to think Jesus could be placed in a position to be tempted. But, He was proving God's spiritual system for man to show man that they can become more than conquerors by grace and truth being accepted. Being willing to swallow pride when corrected (taking up their cross) and continuing in seeking more sound doctrinal Bible teaching (following Him).

They key is? Where is the good teacher? God would not be God is He did not provide.

James 3:1 - Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.

Only a few should be teaching. Yet? We find many teachers today. Jesus warned that the road to destruction is 'broad and wide.'

In the end... the arrogant believer will always find teachings that comfort his particular area of pride.

The humble will find teachings that they needed, and find themselves needing to suffer for the sake of the Truth.. until the blessings began to pour.

That is not an answer to the question asked.

Do you have any scripture saying what was posted? Do you have any scripture stating a person must first have a need and a desire to remove that need in order to sin? If you do have scripture to prove that statement will you now please post the reference? If there is no such scripture then will you acknowledge you don't know of any such scripture and this is your personal view?

Yes, I can cite lots of examples that did not have a root in a legitimate need! Attempts to change the topic or shift the onus onto someone else are inappropriate. A statement was made and it warrants discussion because I can't find any scripture saying what was posted but I can find plenty of scripture and lots of reason directly contradicting much of what was posted. Rather than assume error, I am allowing for the opportunity to provide some scriptural evidence, teach me something, and prove your case. I have asked several questions, separating them into individual posts so they can be discussed incrementally, and so the various elements of what was said can be discussed without confusing each other. I am doing exactly what I should be doing: asking questions about the posts. I am not the only one asking questions and none of them have been answered directly, either.

Are you able to provide scripture for the earlier statement or not?

So you would say a rapist, or a serial killer has a legitimate need, and their illegitimate solution would be to rape and kill someone?

Sin starts in the heart. It comes from our own desires, wants, and motives the Bible teaches that sin comes from inside. I don't believe our desires, wants, and motives, are legitimate needs. In fact, a lot of the time they are illegitimate needs.

What I have come to learn is that sin is a normal part of our human experience. The question isn’t whether or not we have sin, but how we handle it, how well we understand it, and where we look to find the solution for it. That's why I like a book by Joyce Meyer entitled Battlefield of the Mind. She teaches the solution straight from the Bible.

The Apostle Paul explains it quite thoroughly in Romans chapter 3

As said, all sin has ITS ROOTS in some legitimate need.

For the desire for sex is in itself a God given legitimate need. Genesis 1:28

God has prescribed solutions for the need for sex. They are to be found in Bible doctrine.. Legitimate solutions.

In contrast:

Sin creates alternative means for the need for sex outside of God's solution. Illegitimate solutions.

Sexual desire in itself is not sinful. How the desire is directed will either be according God's instruction, or choosing outside of God's instruction. That choice will determine if the desire is sinful or not.

A serial killer has a chain of root causes.

One key element for its foundation is that of envy and jealousy of others. A jealousy that will not be handed over to God's Spirit for a solution.

Genesis 4:4-7 - is one such example.

Abel also brought an offering from the choicest firstlings of his flock.

And Yahweh looked with favor to Abel and to his offering, but to Cain

and to his offering he did not look with favor. And Cain became very

angry, and his face fell. And Yahweh said to Cain, “Why are you angry,

and why is your face fallen? If you do well will I not accept you?

But if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door.

And its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”

Although Jesus is fully human, He was not born with the sinful nature that we are born with. He certainly was tempted in the same way we are, in that temptations were put before Him by Satan, yet He remained sinless because God is incapable of sinning. It is against His very nature (Matthew 4:1; Hebrews 2:18, 4:15; James 1:13). Sin is by definition a trespass of the Law. God created the Law, and the Law is by nature what God would or would not do; therefore, sin is anything that God would not do by His very nature. From the OP
