mark and josh and a few others are Calvinists and several of us here were at one time. Were at one time? Lol. sorry don't mean to laugh. Almost sounds like something to avoid? Like the plague! It's always better to preach the Bible instead of Calvinism because the Bible’s words are God-breathed, not some theological formulations. Paul tells us “all Scripture is breathed out by God” Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), 17 So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16–17 For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so—it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit 2 Peter 1:21 The words written down in Scripture are God’s words. Do we trust God’s sovereign choice of words over clever man-made theology?

How can that be done? The Calvinists I've seen in posts use the word as you say above. I just don't get it.

Good point he was a disciple but not a believer. He was elect but not a believer, he was chosen but not a believer. This is where Calvinism fails. Curious, where in that does Calvinism fail? Not that I agree with Calvinism, but I don't see your proof. Elect = saved.

Curious, where in that does Calvinism fail? Not that I agree with Calvinism, but I don't see your proof. Elect = saved. Judas never had a change of heart. We know that Judas felt remorse for his actions (Matthew 27:3) and knew he sinned. His sorrow, however, did not lead to true repentance and a change of heart, as it did for Peter (see Luke 22:55 - 62, John 18:17, 25 - 27, etc.). It led to him committing suicide (Matthew 27:5, Acts 1:18). This is Interesting: Calvinist Nightmare: The Judas Dilemma
