To love the Lord your God with your whole heart, soul, mind and strength and your neighbor as yourself must be included as an essential, the essential goal, at least. Nobody but Jesus has ever done that....God provided us with another way to be Saved—- “ Without the Law” .....it’s called “ Grace”.... obtain that Grace by Trusting in the Gospel Of 1 Cor15:1-4 Hi havingtroublehere, I hope we can fix that. Please feel free to join us as a member and continual posting so we can get to know you.

Everything plainly taught in scripture are essential. Everything. There are widespread accepted doctrines that are not explicitly taught in the holy scriptures and as a result are heresy. These would include these that I can think of at the moment: 1. The trinity. 2. Once Saved Always Saved/Eternal Security. 3. Immediate translation to heaven upon death. 4. Pre-tribulation rapture. 5. Continued sinning by born again saints (in any degree). 6. Dispensationalism. Im with you on the first on. The others? Ummmm.....not so much.....

Nobody but Jesus has ever done that....God provided us with another way to be Saved—- “ Without the Law” .....it’s called “ Grace”.... obtain that Grace by Trusting in the Gospel Of 1 Cor15:1-4 And we’re to follow Him in doing that, by grace. Or else we won’t be saved. The new covenant was never about a reprieve from man’s obligation to be righteous, but the very means to that righteousness, the authentic means, under grace, by the Spirit and the love He pours into our hearts (Rom 5:5). This love is the very definition of righteousness for man and it will fulfill the law regardless of whether or not we’ve even heard it. That’s why Jesus came. “ But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.” Rom 3:21-22 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” Rom 8:1-4 “ Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.” Rom 8:12-13 Jesus didn’t create you to be a sinner, and He didn’t do all that He did just so you can remain in your sins. He wants you to follow Him into walking in the light, and He enables you to do just that. The new covenant is all about union with God, apart from Whom we can do nothing, John 15:5. The doorway to Him and the justice which is realized by virtue of that union is faith.

And we’re to follow Him in doing that, by grace. Or else we won’t be saved
‘Nobody “ gets” Saved or “ stays” Saved by Following Jesus ....We are not Saved by “Following” —- we are Saved by TRUSTING! Trusting in the Gospel Of 1Cor15:1-4 ....onlyTHEN does a man receive the Holy Spirit That gives him both the desire and the power to follow Jesus .....and if you are intent in Following Jesus , you need to follow His most recent “ Marching Orders!” And what would those be? Follow Paul.....( I think we are told to do that at least two or three times in the N. T.) Jesus did the work of Salvation alone, of course , but Paul was His “ Chosen Vessel” to explain what it meant and how it is to play out in the life of the Believer...we go to Jesus for Salvation, but we go to Paul for Doctrine.....he wrote Nothing In His letters that Jesus ( via the Holy Spirit) did not tell him to write.....Peter admitted that some of the things that Paul wrote were “ hard to understand” , yet Peter declared that Anything That Paul wrote was the equal Of Scripture.....”Follow Paul as he follows Jesus”....

“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it." Luke 923-24
This all begins with coming to know God, as revealed by God the Son. And then we begin to do His will. Of course trust is involved, which equates to hope in the historical understanding, along with faith, and, most importantly, love. As we come to know and believe in, hope in, and love Him, we follow Him. Faith is the beginning of that walk.

Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it." Luke 923-24
Jesus did not want to go to the Cross —- he prayed intensely that the “ Cup” that His Father wanted Him to partake of would pass if there was any way possible.....so it all came down to Jesus getting “ His” Will done ( by letting the Cup pass) or by doing the will of His Father ( which was to partake of the Cup) .......” Picking Up” That Cross showed that in the end, Jesus relented to the Will Of The Father.....as a result of that Willingness to do God's Will , the entirety of Mankind now had the opportunity to be Saved.....
The basis of Christianity is NOT Suffering, and it is NOT even Serving or always doing the Father’s Will— even though this example shows that God’s Way, or God’s Will is ALWAYS Best! .....The “ Will Of The Father” as far as Salvation is concerned, is to “ BELIEVE in the One that He sent”.....simple as that....
“ Picking Up The Cross” means that you have a daily choice to live your life either “ YOUR” way—going by your own selfish and unwise desires, or be wise and “hand over the wheel” Of your life to God and do things His Way....it’s seldom the “ easy” way to live your life, but it is ALWAYS the best!
It’s an issue of Wisdom and obedience and it falls in line with what Paul taught when he said to “ present your body as a Living Sacrifice”..... One does it to be Blessed....doing the Will Of The Father to the point of suffering is how you “ pick up your Cross” .....not all are asked to suffer...and NOBODY is ever required to suffer to the extent that Jesus did.....and it’s not a Salvation issue....Thanks to Jesus “ picking up” HIS Cross we don’t have to ....We “SHOULD” if we want to be blessed, but we dont HAVE to......* WE* are the ones that lose when we lack the Faith to do things God’s Way.....
The Hebrews in the desert lacked the Faith to do things God's way when they lacked the Faith to enter the Promised Land....I think we are all familiar with the dreadful price that “ they” paid.....

It's not to merely believe in a set of tenets, or to trust as well, but to enter union with God, whereupon we're changed, and must continue to live out that change, with Him seeking to draw us into greater and greater righteousness/sanctification, into greater and greater love, and apart from the sin that condemns us. The cross we pick up is simply His will-it may or may not involve suffering but always involves overcoming sin and the often less than comfortable or desirable understanding that we must do the "right thing".

You make the common mistake of confusing Sanctification with Salvation.......Salvation is the one time acceptance of a “ FREE GIFT”.......Sanctification is what takes place in the life of a Believer AFTER one receives that Free Gift.....That person has the Holy Spirit in them and Sanctification is what we witness as God “Transforms us into the Image Of His Son”....as he “ FINISHES the Good Work That He started...

To be “ Holy” simply means to be “ set apart”...... once we get Saved by Trusting in the Gospel Of Paul ( Given to Him by Jesus) , then we get the Holy Spirit and that Spirit “ sets us apart” from the Lost World that we used to be a part of as God Transforms us into the Image Of His Son...”Holiness is like Righteousness in the sense that it is something that is “ imputed” to us ......our own personal “ holiness “ in a realistic sense, is a big of a joke as our own personal “ Righteousness” ......it would be non- existent had it not been Imputed to us....Don't Mistake something that God does ,( setting you apart to work on you ) with you living a life of Sinless Perfection....the latter is a Lie... Well, there's a reason that holiness sets one apart in this world-it's because one is different, changed , for the better, to purity, from unrighteousness (1 John 1), to the love that purifies, that excludes sin by its nature. It's certainly more than a merely declared status-it's real righteousness, the life of God implanted in us in seed form that can be embraced, nurtured, acted upon, expressed and grown-or not. And the writer of Heb 12:14 wasn't talking to the wind. Neither was Paul in Rom 6:21-22: "Therefore what benefit were you then deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the outcome of those things is death. 22But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 6:21-22 Sanctifaction would be impossible to begin with if holiness was a completed and totally done deal with no option, let alone need, to confirm and grow in it. And: "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad." 2 Cor 5:10

God does not make trash——what He “ Does” make are Human Beings That have inherited a Fallen Nature from Adam....Some claim that we are all “God’s Children”........No, we are all God”s “ Creation” , But we do not become an actual “ Child Of God” until we Believe on the the One that He sent....THAT is the Will Of God for His Creation......That is when we receive the Holy Spirit and until that happens, we are Lost “ Reprobates”....actual “ enemies of God”..... As far as being “ good?”...... hate to bust your bubble, but God says , “ There are NONE that are “ good”— No, not ONE!”.....” Everyone has gone his own way” We “ DO” need to love God and love our neighbor but we have Another “ need” that is mandatory and must be addressed first—— We need to be Forgiven Of our Sins......we need to see our utter depravity before a Holy God and then “TURN TO GOD ( the Repentance That Saves) , with Faith in Jesus Christ .....than and ONLY THEN can we make any progress at “ being good” as God Works *HIS* Good “ THROUGH” us...... And LOVE “ IS” the True and Ultimate Cure for Sin ......Love is the “ ENGINE” that drives Obedience.....NOT the fear of dropping into Hell every time that we “ Stumble”......
