You can`t even get saved until you receive the Spirit Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Christians that insist in still water baptizing are failing to see in the Bible, that in the very beginning of the church age Peter continued doing as he always had done before the church age began.
It took Peter to the 11th chapter of Acts to finally have it sink in, as seen here.
“As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came on them as he had come on us at the beginning.
Then I remembered what the Lord had said: ‘John baptized with water, but you will
be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ So if God gave them the same gift he gave us who
believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to think that I could stand in God’s way?” Acts 11:15-17
Jesus had told Peter that Spirit baptism would replace water baptism. That was told to Peter in Acts 1:5.
It took all that time till chapter 11 for Peter (who had been distracted by all the excitement) to finally recall what Jesus had said way back in Acts 1:5.
Peter finally had recall and remembered what Jesus had told him earlier.....
On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not
leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard
me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized
with the Holy Spirit.”
People who insist upon water baptism for today are without knowing it? Are doing a reenactment of Peter's mistake!
Its scary to see how we do not see.
grace and peace .......

Call me a Bible thumper but if the Bible says it I believe it. I like the Chicago Statement on Inerrancy, which was written by a group of scholars in the 1970s to give Christians language to express their belief in the Bible’s truth. Here’s is part of the Statement’s introduction that define “inerrancy”: From Article II: “Holy Scripture, being God’s own Word, written by men prepared and superintended by His Spirit, is of infallible divine authority in all matters upon which it touches: it is to be believed, as God’s instruction, in all that it affirms; obeyed, as God’s command, in all that it requires; embraced, as God’s pledge, in all that it promises.” From Article IV: “Being wholly and verbally God-given, Scripture is without error or fault in all its teaching, no less in what it states about God’s acts in creation, about the events of world history, and about its own literary origins under God, than in its witness to God’s saving grace in individual lives.” As soon as the scriptures are being twist around by any group of people the foundation for a cult has been laid. If a translation says it? It may be misleading to believe it at times. If translations were all as good as some wish they were? We would not need a few good pastors who understand how to exegete the Word of God. Not every one wants to know with accuracy what the Word of God says. They simply want "something to believe." If a translation sits well with their own personal bias? The person reading that passage will not be knowing what the Word of God actually says to believe it. But, "they will believe it." 2 Timothy 4:3, tells us that, that problem with personal bias will be with us until the Rapture. For the time will come when they will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."If I find a good teacher and learn what the Bible is saying? Then I can believe it. I am fascinated when people who take the position of... "If the Bible says it I believe it." When after they are shown a translation correction? That is when we find out if they mean what they say. Some will gladly believe it when corrected. Yet, some find ways to refuse not being able to admit it when they were proven wrong. In the mean while.. Life goes on seeking a place to call home.

The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. What makes the Son different from the Father? The Son is the same God essence as the Father and a soul in unique union. What makes the Holy Spirit different from the Father? The Holy Spirit is the same God as the Father in union with the spirit essence of an angel. Jesus utilizing His Soul takes what He fully knows of being also God, and interprets for us God as expressed by His Soul. Since we are souls? We can relate to how Jesus interprets the Father for us. That is why Jesus could say, "to see me is to see the Father."

I made a SIMPLE statement in a desire to shed light on a detail that is not usually seen.
The response to that post? Made everything I said to be forgotten in a sea of details that had nothing to do with the insight.
So, I wish to repeat again what some still need to understand. Its a truth which would help them to better understand the importance of man in determining the design of all creation.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
An interesting point to consider as to why all things created were created through Him. By Him. And, for Him.
The Son consists of two natures in union. Being both Deity and Soul. Humanity is His soul.
Why all had to be created through Him?
Because all things created needed to be relatable to his soul. If His soul could not be made to comprehend something to be created? It would not be created.
That means that throughout all time and eternity, everything created, we will be able to experience by our soul. Having been created through the soul of the Lord, making all things created relatable to our souls.
All things to be created had to be invented and approved of by His Soul!
The importance of understanding this could lead to understanding how God initially created all men with the innate ability to choose for, or against, faith in God.
An interesting point to consider as to why all things created were created *through* Him. By Him. And, for Him.
The Son consists of two natures in union. Being both Deity and Soul. Humanity is His soul.

All things created were invented and approved of by His Soul!
The importance of understanding this could lead to understanding how God created all men with the freedom to choose for, or against, faith in God. That aspect of ability was revealed in the Incarnation. For while in that state of making Himself to be as a man? The Son was revealing that He has the capacity (when He wishes) to deny himself to his powers of omniscience.... ! In that manner, He was able to create every soul of mankind, in love... and with only the best intention for perfect relationship with God. Since He denied himself His right to omniscience? Every soul He created was created with the perfect freedom to choose on his own. God did not create certain men to reject Him!
After all things were created through His Soul? Once returning to all His full powers of Deity? Then the problems were seen in His omniscience and with the entire Trinity the entire plan for redemption was planned ...
grace and peace!

All other religions can be reduced to one of two categories, or a hybrid of the two. The two options are either some form of Gnosticism or some form of harvest religion. In general, heresies are about identity; either the identity of God, Jesus, or humanity (or any mixture of the three). All the pagan mythologies with their multiple gods were harvest religions. We see this with the gods of the sun, the moon, the rain, the seasons, etc. These gods are personal, but not infinite. These gods have eyes and ears and thought, emotion, and will but they are not wholly healthy in any of these faculties. Zeus is fighting Neptune who is fighting with Ra who is fighting with Thor who is fighting with Molech who is fighting with Dagda and no one god is all powerful. These are the gods of the west. In the east we find infinite gods that aren't personal. These are the forces and ways of the universe that have no specific will or purpose. The cover and govern the universe and everything in it. By aligning yourself with these forces you reach enlightenment. And, of course, there are hybrid versions of this. Only the God of the Bible is both infinite and personal. Christianity is singular in its doctrine of salvation by grace. All others are some form of works, either what you do or what you know. It's subtle because what you know is fundamentally different from who you know and needing to do nothing but rely on the will and work of God. That GotQuestions article is good (and I am someone normally guarded about Got Questions content because of their dispensational bias). However, it is my understanding his letter to the Galatians was Paul's primary response to Gnosticism. In the Colossae letter he speaks specifically against "human tradition," and more specifically those human traditions that have to do with "elemental spirits." No one really knows the specifics, but I don't think it is a stretch to think Paul is referencing very the commonly held views in the ancient world that had to do with earth, air, fire, and water. These were fairly fundamental in the Greek philosophies. Thales believed everything was a form of fire, and by extension change. Other philosophers emphasized different aspects as they sought to reduce the world to its core constituent element by which it might be understood. Each domain had its own creature (spirits of the water or the air, etc.). Ironically, GotQuestions has an article on the matter of elemental spirits HERE. Kinda curious this article is not used to inform the article on the Colossian Heresy. Keep in mind Colossae was largely Persian, not Roman. In Corinth and Ephesus we have the influence of the large temples and their pagan religions of Apollo, Artemis, Dionysus, and Aphrodite. Phrygia and the Colossian cities were hodgepodges of religion that included all of the main and lesser paganisms but also Hellenism, Judaism, and Gnosticism. In the first century there was even a cult that worshiped the archangel, Michael. I suspect this is what Paul is referencing because the question about whether Jesus is Michael has always existed. The angels are "lesser elements". The theologian has written quite a lot on this in his books like " The Unseen Realm." He's a good source for understanding the Jewish mythologies and zodiac and how it is evident in scripture. I, personally, think he over-reaches and runs into the problem of Judaizing Christianity but that has more to do with method rather than content. So I am inclined to think the letter has to do with the eclecticism in general and the Michael cult in particular. That is why Paul emphasizes the identity of Christ. Jesus is not a specially endowed human, nor is he a lesser god. He is God. Colossians 1:15-18He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
I also think it worth noting the believers in Colossae were commended for their faith. Phrygia was destroyed in 60 AD by an earthquake. Don't think it's a stretch to believe that was due to divine judgment and not just tectonic plate shifts . He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. That inspired a thot of the day....
An interesting point to consider as to why all things created were created *through* Him. By Him. And, for Him.
The Son consists of two natures in union. Being both Deity and Soul. Humanity is His soul.
Why all had to be created through Him? Because all things created needed to be relatable to a soul. If His soul could not be made to know something to be created? It could not be created.
That means that throughout all time and eternity everything we will experience had been created through the soul of the Lord, making all things created relatable to our souls who will forever be living souls.

"Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." Romans 10:17 Faith can not be had without the Word being heard, and the Word can not be experientially understood without it BECOMING our faith.
There is no time found in eternity. Eternal life does not have limits to time.
Faith does not precede regeneration. And, regeneration does not precede faith. Regeneration requires faith to become manifested. And faith requires regeneration to be comprehended.
Faith and regeneration are a simultaneously manifested from the perspective of eternity. Since God does the work in regeneration it does not require we understand how it works. To think in terms of timeless eternity can take quite some time before we can picture what I said. God simultaneously produces regeneration so that the faith we accepted at the same time will have fertile soil to grow in...

Its no wonder we are in such trouble..... You can speak for yourself not others in this scenario but if you think salvation is inner peace you sure are in dire trouble Isiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Salvation is a word for more than just being saved from the Lake of Fire. It seems you think that the word "salvation" has only one application. There is more than one way the word can be used. Here is an example of what I speak: www.fbbc.com/messages/hyles_nation.htm.

Its no wonder we are in such trouble..... LOL ...... Classic ...... The next thing you know we will be sitting around the campfire talking about felings!! God help us!!! Right now we are heading into deep trouble. Jesus said there would be trouble for one's nation if too many in that nation persisted in living by subjective teachings. Only when sound doctrine is being sought and accepted that those who do will the effect of producing "salt." Salt was used as a preservative and as as for producing good taste. A nation's culture will function in good taste as long as in the land enough believers choose for sound thinking with the Word of God. You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned? It is no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot." Matthew 5:13 ........................................... There have been great nations in the past that had been at one time been blessed by God. Blessed for having a strong element of Bible teaching being accepted in their land. Then came a time after too many believers became spiritually apathetic and subjective in their thinking (by neglecting and refusing sound doctrine). God removed their national blessings because of being judged as having become worthless (having lost its saltiness) by God. Those once great nations ended up becoming trampled on by men as their nation went under. Keep in mind. If only ten righteous were found in Sodom it would have remained standing. Ten would have been salt and preserved the land. It only takes a certain amount of solid believers in a land to find itself a recipient of God's national blessings. grace and peace .......

Two different salvations.
First salvation is from the Lake of Fire after believing in Christ. Both winner and loser who believes in Christ will be saved from the Lake of Fire.
The second is the salvation of the soul. Gaining knowledge and peace that leads to a happiness that not all know.
That happens when a saved person is faithful to keep growing by knowledge in Grace, to to become progressively saved more and more from the lies and evils in the world he finds himself in. He must suffer for a season as he endures and persists in the resistance from demons trying to hold him back.... he persists and resists the devil by continuing to take in sound teachings that the Holy Spirit can become one with him in. Then... a joy in God's timing will be his. That is why false teachings to tickle the ears are so detrimental to becoming an over comer for Christ. Emotional satisfaction is from pride. Inner peace and tranquility of soul comes by the power of God. That is why its called "the salvation of our souls." Inner peace and power to reason. I look at it as the completion of the first salvation. The Bible indicates that we are bought/saved but we are incomplete having just an earnest portion of the Holy Spirit rather than the fulness of it. Ephesians 1 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. 7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; 9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: 10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: 11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. The first salvation is complete. The thief on the cross is proof of that.
The salvation of our souls is concerning how we live after we are saved forever.
Redeem the time.

So you would say a rapist, or a serial killer has a legitimate need, and their illegitimate solution would be to rape and kill someone?
Sin starts in the heart. It comes from our own desires, wants, and motives the Bible teaches that sin comes from inside. I don't believe our desires, wants, and motives, are legitimate needs. In fact, a lot of the time they are illegitimate needs.
What I have come to learn is that sin is a normal part of our human experience. The question isn’t whether or not we have sin, but how we handle it, how well we understand it, and where we look to find the solution for it. That's why I like a book by Joyce Meyer entitled Battlefield of the Mind. She teaches the solution straight from the Bible.
The Apostle Paul explains it quite thoroughly in Romans chapter 3
A rapist....
As said, all sin has ITS ROOTS in some legitimate need.
For the desire for sex is in itself a God given legitimate need. Genesis 1:28
God has prescribed solutions for the need for sex. They are to be found in Bible doctrine.. Legitimate solutions.
In contrast:
Sin creates alternative means for the need for sex outside of God's solution. Illegitimate solutions.
Sexual desire in itself is not sinful. How the desire is directed will either be according God's instruction, or choosing outside of God's instruction. That choice will determine if the desire is sinful or not.
A serial killer has a chain of root causes.
One key element for its foundation is that of envy and jealousy of others. A jealousy that will not be handed over to God's Spirit for a solution.
Genesis 4:4-7 - is one such example.
Abel also brought an offering from the choicest firstlings of his flock.
And Yahweh looked with favor to Abel and to his offering, but to Cain
and to his offering he did not look with favor. And Cain became very
angry, and his face fell. And Yahweh said to Cain, “Why are you angry,
and why is your face fallen? If you do well will I not accept you?
But if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door.
And its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”

In order for a person to sin he must first have a need..... And, a desire to remove that need. Got scripture for that?
You can not understand that with the Scripture you should have stored in your heart?
I was describing the nature of what sin depends upon.
One more time, please...
...................... In order for a person to sin he must first have a need..... And, a desire to remove that need.
We all have legitimate needs. Sin is resorting to an illegitimate solution to resolve a legitimate need. Lawlessness is the end result.
Can you name one sin that did not have its roots in a legitimate need?

genez if you are on the side of the peccability of Christ can you summarize your reasons for me. Thanks !
Jesus was born as Adam was created. Sinless. Adam fell. Jesus proved that Adam did not have to fall.
The difference between Jesus and Adam? By age twelve Jesus knew the Word so well that even the scribes were amazed by his thinking.
What kept Jesus invincible was his mind being filled with Bible doctrine needed for every occasion.
Jesus as a man set the example for us to follow. But, with one difference. We are born with a sin nature that needs to be controlled by the Holy Spirit.
What is wrong with Jesus being able to be tempted? How else could the power of Truth be exhibited before the angels and men to show we are not doomed because of ourselves?
Our problem is that too many are weak in teaching and understanding. They want a simple quick fix. In their frustration caused by deficiency they seek ways to fight and argue as to keep their minds preoccupied and off of their deficiency in knowing Truth.
God will always raise up a few men who are capable of teaching what their current generation needs to know to become winners before God in the angelic conflict.
It sounds sinful to think Jesus could be placed in a position to be tempted. But, He was proving God's spiritual system for man to show man that they can become more than conquerors by grace and truth being accepted. Being willing to swallow pride when corrected (taking up their cross) and continuing in seeking more sound doctrinal Bible teaching (following Him).
They key is? Where is the good teacher? God would not be God is He did not provide.
James 3:1 - Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.
Only a few should be teaching. Yet? We find many teachers today. Jesus warned that the road to destruction is 'broad and wide.'
In the end... the arrogant believer will always find teachings that comfort his particular area of pride.
The humble will find teachings that they needed, and find themselves needing to suffer for the sake of the Truth.. until the blessings began to pour.

God can not be tempted by evil.... Yes, of course. You seem to have a void in your thinking in regards to the dual natures of Jesus Christ. He was fully man. And, fully God.... in union. Adam was without sin as he came from the hands of God. But, he was temptable. Adam in that pre-fallen state was also capable of not sinning. But, when we are born with a fallen nature? We are born sinners. We will sin by nature. In contrast to us? Jesus was born like the first Adam was created before his fall. Without a fallen nature. Jesus' humanity was not like our fallen humanity. You keep suffering from having a blur in your logic concerning this factor, which I am afraid makes you not able to reasoned with. To say Jesus was able to be tempted? Is to not to say he would sin. Jesus without a sin nature was fully able not to sin. Just as Adam before his fall was fully able not to sin. Jesus came to earth to reverse for us what Adam jumped into. Its why we need to be born again. Are you able to converse with others without making personal attacks? I have no void in my thinking. Yes, Jesus had two natures, but his human nature was not that of already-sinful humanity. He was, as you say, "without a fallen nature." I believe this has already been covered earlier in this thread. He knew no sin. His humanity was substantively different than our own because was never sinful to begin with. His humanity started with a conception by the Holy Spirit. Ours did not. He did not know sin genetically, cognitively, emotionally, volitionally, or behaviorally. No one born after Genesis 3:6 can say that. Furthermore, humans were "sown" into creation corrupt ible. We were not sown corrupt ed, but we were sown corrupt ible. We went from being corrupt ible to being corrupt ed at Genesis 3:6. As Paul puts it in Romans 5, by the disobedience of the one man, Adam, death has come to all men because all will sin. Jesus is the exception to that rule. Death hadn't come to him, he wouldn't sin, he was not corruptible. Jesus was foreknown as the perfect sacrifice before the world was created. He wasn't known as the perfect sacrifice only after he'd lived, died, and resurrected; he was known as that perfect person before he came to earth. Some of your statements are inconsistent with each other. It was reported if Jesus could not be tempted then he couldn't provide the solution for sin and that argument is asserted to say he could have been tempted but it was also asserted he was never tempted in the sense he had any untoward desires. We seem to agree he had no untoward desires by which he would be tempted but you say he needed to suffer through temptation. These statements have to be sorted out if they are going to make sense.
You forget? Jesus also took on 'an unpleasant approach' in the face of legalism. He did not sin in doing so.
And, it could be seen as an attack on a person's problem in facing truth that they desire to suppress with rationalizations and not being able to grasp the truth.
